Dr. Tara N. Richards is an Associate Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) at the University of Nebraska, Omaha and a faculty lead in SCCJ’s Victimology and Victim Studies Research Lab. Her research and teaching expertise focuses on sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and the role of gender in criminal justice system processes. Richards’ has published more than 60 peer reviewed journal articles and numerous book chapters, many of which focus on domestic violence, and has received more $1.5 million dollars in grant funding to support her research. Her research has been featured in top outlets such as Annals of Internal Medicine, Child Abuse and Neglect, Law and Human Behavior, and Crime & Delinquency, and she is the co-editor of the book, Sexual Victimization: Then and Now.
